<h3>ABOUT THE JOB</h3>

<p class="p1">This position will own rapid development of systems and subsystems from concept to production. You will work in a small, high-ownership team where engineers take pride in the products they deliver. The ideal candidate has an interest in rapid-prototyping and iterative design as well as high growth mindset and a strong attention to detail. The engineering opportunities at hand are demanding — individuals joining this team must have a high capacity to work cross-functionally and be invigorated by solving challenges on tight timelines.</p>

<h4><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO</strong></h4>

<ul>

<li class="p1">Own and drive the mechanical design of ruggedized, vehicle-based subsystems structures, and mechanisms from concept to low rate production</li>

<li class="p1">Apply first-principles engineering and physics to every design decision.</li>

<li class="p1">Build and test prototypes of complex electromechanical systems, and iterate quickly based on the results.</li>

<li class="p1">Spearhead design reviews, conduct analysis, visit vendors, prototype and implement hardware test plans to ensure reliability in the harshest environments on earth.</li>

<li class="p1">Balance operational needs across vehicle subsystems while optimizing for development speed, mass, manufacturability, and cost.</li>

<li class="p1">Work in close partnership with other disciplines to ensure the electrical, software, and mechanical systems collectively form a reliable, flexible, cost-effective system.</li>

<li class="p1">Cultivate a vibrant, positive, dedicated, high-energy, educational, and enjoyable community environment.</li>

<li class="p1">Support critical hardware demonstrations and field events with internal and external customers.</li>

<li class="p1">Travel to test sites and vendors as needed.</li>

<h4>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4>

<ul>

<li class="p1">Self-starter with 8+ years of mechanical or electromechanical design experience in a professional setting.</li>

<li class="p1">Passionate about engineering and strong attention to detail</li>

<li class="p1">BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.</li>

<li class="p1">Hands-on experience in immersive technical projects (Formula SAE, Baja SAE, SAE Aero, etc.).</li>

<li class="p1">Demonstrated hands-on fabrication and rapid-prototyping skills.</li>

<li class="p1">3D CAD proficiency (any platform) and the ability to apply GD&T to produce high-quality engineering drawings.</li>

<li class="p1">Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>

<li class="p1">Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.</li>

</ul>

<h4>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4>

<ul>

<li class="p1">Experience with NX and Teamcenter.</li>

<li class="p1">MEng, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.</li>

<li class="p1">Experience taking ruggedized electromechanical assemblies from concept to low-rate production for automotive, space, or military applications.</li>

<li class="p1">Ability to integrate electronics into mechanical designs (motors, controllers, sensors, radars, etc.), including packaging, thermal management, sealing, and cable harnessing.</li>

<li class="p1">Experience with production processes (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, welding, wire harnessing, 3D printing) to inform design for manufacturability.</li>

<li class="p1">Experience with vehicle-mounted or expeditionary systems.</li>
