Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

<h3>Responsibilities</h3>

<ul>

<li>Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web applications, APIs, and end-to-end user journeys.</li>

<li>Build reusable automation frameworks, utilities, and test infrastructure that scale with product complexity.</li>

<li>Develop and maintain UI automation using Playwright or similar modern automation frameworks.</li>

<li>Write automated API and integration tests covering functional behavior, error scenarios, and edge cases.</li>

<li>Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve execution speed, reliability, and feedback time.</li>

<li>Identify product risks early and work with developers and product managers to improve testability and prevent defects.</li>

<li>Investigate test failures, perform root cause analysis, and improve automation stability.</li>

<li>Use AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve test creation, debugging, coverage, and maintenance.</li>

<li>Test AI-powered product workflows, including dynamic UI behavior, generated outputs, failure scenarios, and regression risks.</li>

<li>Take end-to-end ownership of quality for assigned features, from requirement analysis to release validation.</li>

<li>Track automation coverage, defect trends, and test reliability to continuously improve quality.</li>

<h3>Required skills and experience</h3>

<ul>

<li>3–6 years of experience in software testing, test automation, or SDET roles.</li>

<li>Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript.</li>

<li>Hands-on experience with Playwright, or an equivalent browser automation framework.</li>

<li>Good understanding of API testing, REST, HTTP, JSON, authentication, and integration testing.</li>

<li>Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test execution.</li>

<li>Strong understanding of test design, boundary-value analysis, negative testing, and risk-based testing.</li>

<li>Experience building or extending reusable automation frameworks.</li>

<li>Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate failures using logs, traces, and network requests.</li>

<li>Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and product managers in a fast-paced environment.</li>

<li>Strong ownership, attention to detail, and clear communication.</li>

</ul>

<h3><strong>Good to have</strong></h3>

<ul>

<li>Experience testing AI-powered applications or LLM-based features.</li>

<li>Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agent-based testing approaches.</li>

<li>Experience with mobile automation, performance testing, or observability tools.</li>

<li>Experience with Docker, cloud environments, and distributed systems.</li>
