Staff Engineer - Security

<p><strong>The Role:</strong></p>

<p>Emergent runs a massive, multi-tenant, AI driven execution environment where code is generated and executed continuously. You will secure the infrastructure that powers autonomous software creation.</p>

<p>We’re looking for a <strong>Staff Security Engineer</strong> to own security across the full stack—from <strong>AI-generated applications and agent pipelines to cloud infrastructure and runtime environments</strong>.</p>

<p>You’ll:</p>

<ul>

<li>Secure <strong>AI-generated code, applications, and agent pipelines</strong></li>

<li>Design secure <strong>multi-tenant cloud & runtime environments</strong></li>

<li>Lead <strong>threat modeling, detection, and defense</strong> across application and infrastructure layers</li>

<li>Build security controls for <strong>AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, containers, IAM, APIs, and CI/CD</strong></li>

<li>Defend against <strong>prompt injection, container escapes, privilege escalation, and data exfiltration</strong></li>

<li>Build scalable security frameworks and partner closely with engineering and product teams</li>

</ul>

<p>What We’re Looking For</p>

<ul>

<li><strong>8–15+ years</strong> of security engineering experience</li>

<li>Strong expertise across <strong>Application/Product Security + Cloud/Infrastructure Security</strong></li>

<li>Hands-on experience with <strong>AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, containers, IAM, APIs, and threat modeling</strong></li>

<li>Strong coding skills in <strong>Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or backend systems</strong></li>

<li>Experience securing <strong>untrusted/user-generated code and multi-tenant systems</strong></li>

<li>Strong systems thinking and ability to drive security from <strong>architecture to implementation</strong></li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Bonus:</strong> Experience with <strong>AI/LLM security, agentic systems, prompt injection, sandboxing, or large-scale execution environments.</strong></p>
