About the role
HyperLight is at the forefront of the commercialization of thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) integrated photonics - a material and process technology that is enabling high-performance, scalable optical components across AI/datacom infrastructure, hyperscale computing, quantum computing, sensing, and beyond. Founded in 2018 and backed by leading venture capital, we’ve built a team and a platform focused on real-world mass deployment of TFLN photonics technology.
At the core of our work is the TFLN Chiplet™ platform — a modular, integrated architecture designed for scalability, manufacturability, and seamless integration into complex systems. It offers a rare combination of extraordinary performance and industrial readiness, enabling system developers across applications to deploy the technology fast and ready. We partner with our customers and suppliers from conceptualization, design, and prototyping phases, all the way through mass production to ensure smooth and rapid deployment of TFLN photonic technology.
We believe our platform is the key, in the golden age of integrated photonics, to empower humanity to the next level. We assembled a world class team covering engineering, business, and operations. We believe in the power of integrity, innovation, collaboration, and pragmatic solutions. Our diverse team thrives on challenges and is united by a shared commitment to excellence. We take pride in tackling complex challenges with curiosity, humility, and a deep sense of care for one another.
Our growing team is looking for a Supply Chain Senior Engineer to join our team. The Supply Chain Senior Engineer plays a cross-functional role spanning planning, procurement, inventory management, and finance operations. This individual backs up the planning function, issues and tracks purchase orders, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports the Finance Controller in the 3 way match process — ensuring HyperLight’s supply chain operates smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance to support the manufacturing and commercialization of TFLN photonics technology.
Key Responsibilities
Support and back up the production/materials planning function: review MRP outputs, flag material shortages, and communicate schedule impacts to Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing in a timely manner
Assist in maintaining production schedules and material requirement plans; coordinate with Planning to ensure material availability aligns with production and shipment targets
Monitor supplier lead times and provide early warning of potential supply disruptions; escalate risks to the Supply Chain Lead and relevant stakeholders
Issue and manage purchase orders for materials, components, supplies, and services: coordinate with Procurement and Finance to ensure POs are raised accurately, on time, and within approved budgets
Track open purchase orders through to delivery confirmation; follow up with suppliers on order acknowledgements, delivery status, and discrepancies
Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers for non-contracted items; obtain quotes and support purchase decisions in alignment with HyperLight’s procurement policies
Track and maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods; perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies in the ERP system
Monitor stock levels against reorder points and safety stock targets; proactively flag shortages or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions
Ensure materials are properly received, labelled, and stored; coordinate with warehouse operations on inbound and outbound material movements
Support the Finance Controller in the 3-way match process: verify alignment of purchase orders, goods receipts, and supplier invoices; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Liaise between Finance, Procurement, and Operations to ensure timely resolution of invoice holds, quantity or price variances, and PO-to-receipt mismatches
Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all procurement and inventory transactions to support month-end close, audits, and financial reporting
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain planning, procurement, and inventory processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Uphold ethics and integrity in all supply chain activities: adhere to HyperLight’s anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and conflict of interest policies; ensure all supplier dealings are conducted with fairness and transparency
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Lead
Requirements
5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, procurement, inventory management, or a related operations role
Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite); strong working knowledge of PO management and inventory modules
Working knowledge of the 3-way match process (PO – Goods Receipt – Invoice) and accounts payable workflows
Experience in production or materials planning, including MRP runs, demand review, and schedule coordination
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation
Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data entry, documentation, and transaction processing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and external suppliers
Experience in a technical hardware or manufacturing environment (semiconductors, photonics, electronics, or advanced manufacturing) preferred
Familiarity with import/export regulations and trade compliance; ITAR/EAR awareness a plus
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; APICS CPIM or equivalent certification is a plus
Business-level English proficiency, as the role requires frequent collaboration with our global team.
