Embedded Systems Engineering Intern - Spring '27

Internship Term: Winter – Spring 2026 (January – June)

Commitment: Full Time, 8 AM to 5 PM

Location: On site in Woburn, MA

We are looking for someone pursuing an electrical, software or related engineering field who wants to work at the intersection of electro-mechanical and IoT connected systems. What you will do:

Assist with engineering and service of Smartflower Solar systems

Develop, test and deploy new firmware solutions to boost ease of use, product reliability, serviceability or performance.

Partner with SmartFlower technical team members and external engineering contractors to develop, validate and release software or firmware solutions

Validate new features prior to release. Monitor fleet performance to identify field issues early and own their containment and resolution

Support continuous improvement efforts around the firmware release process including enhanced documentation, version control, release package build and OTA update management

You...

Are working towards a computer, electrical, robotics or equivalent engineering degree

Are proficient programming in modern languages such as C / C++ and Python

Can share a portfolio of previous work demonstrating experience with embedded systems

Operate with a hands-on approach, are self-motivated, and love to work on hardware products

Are able to work independently, manage time and prioritize your work

Demonstrate independence, a self-starter attitude with strong communication skills
